Our Story.....so
far!!
Eden Garden Center &
Florist in WaKeeney, Kansas, began December 22, 2005.
It brings together a love for all things creative, our
commitment to quality, and a thirst for knowledge that both
my husband and I share. We bought it for the chance to
contribute our effort to the economic development in this
area. Our belief is that we are stewards of the Earth
and so we strive to make the most of the resources we have.
The building that Eden occupies was, at one time, a filling
station and garage. It has been a florist and
greenhouse for many years, however, so we are not the first
to occupy this space for that purpose. Each proprietor
has contributed their own signature changes to the building
and grounds, and we are no different. We replaced the
greenhouse tables, which were wooden and unstable, with
wrought iron tables for our first bedding plant season.
I recently completed repainting the inside of the shop with
beautiful floral colors. I love how bright and fresh
it looks, now.
December 22, 2011 was our 6
year anniversary. We spent these years learning
the ins and outs of the requirements of the community and
introducing new and unusual gift items, plants, and floral
designs, seeing what works, and noting what doesn't.
After all, the first rule in retail business is to know your
customer. Thanks go to all those people whose input
and feedback have given us insight into the desires of our
many repeat customers who have become our friends. We hope to continue to learn
your needs and meet or exceed your expectations in service
and quality. |

About WaKeeney
WaKeeney
is located in the NW section of the state in Trego
(pronounced Tree-Go) county. It is on Interstate 70
exactly halfway between Denver and Kansas City.
WaKeeney is primarily an agricultural community, but we have
plenty of accommodations, dining establishments, and a Dirt
track Speedway for visitors. Although the name sounds Native American, it is a
combination of the surnames of our founding fathers, Warren
and Keeney.
You can find out all about
our town by visiting our community pages:
