The Beginning
Eden Garden Center &
Florist in WaKeeney, Kansas, began December 22, 2005.
It brings together a love for all things creative, our
commitment to quality, and a thirst for knowledge that both
my husband and I share. We bought it for the chance to
contribute to the constant strivings for economic
development in this area. WaKeeney, located in the NW
section of Kansas, is primarily an agricultural community.
The building that Eden occupies was, at one time, a filling
station and garage. It has been a florist and
greenhouse for many years, however, so we are not the first
to occupy this space for that purpose. Each proprietor
has contributed their own signature changes to the building
and grounds, and we are no different. We have several
ideas in the works for improvement on the property, but you
will just have to wait and see, because "mums" the word on
what we are planning.
It feels good to have the
first 4 years almost under our belts. We spent these years learning
the ins and outs of the requirements of the community and
introducing new and unusual gift items, plants, and floral
designs, seeing what works, and noting what doesn't.
After all, the first rule in retail business is to know your
customer. Thanks go to all those people whose input
and feedback have given us insight into the desires of our
many repeat customers. We hope to continue to learn
your needs and meet or exceed your expectations in service
and quality. |
